A recruit from the Ryder Cup Espechante moved to the top six of the American points after another solid performance on the PGA Tour.
Maverick McNealy closed 8-mine of 64 Sunday in Torrey Pines to finish second place at Genesis Invitational. McNealy now has three T-9 or Better finishes this season, including a T-9 two weeks ago in Phoenix, while jumping in the seventh in the points of Fedexcup-and the fifth of the points of the American Ryder Cup.
McNealy, which has increased eight places, is joined by five players with a previous experience Ryder Cup – N ° 1 Scottie Scheffler, n ° 2 Xander Schauffele, n ° 3 Bryson Dechambeau, n ° 4 Collin Morikawa and n ° 6 Patrick Cantlay.
Tony Finau is seventh, followed by Russell Henley, Brian Harman and Billy out of chencing. Justin Thomas is n ° 12, Max Homa is n ° 21, Jordan Spieth is n ° 40 and Brooks Koepka is n ° 57.
McNealy was twice Walker Cupper, including in 2017 when he went 4-0 with Morikawa and Doug Ghim. He pierced for his first PGA Tour title at the RSM Classic last fall.
The list of European points is currently resembling this: n ° 1 Rory McILroy, n ° 2 Tyrrell Hatton, n ° 3 Rasmus Hojgaard, n ° 4 Ludvig Åberg, n ° 5 Shane Lowry and n ° 6 Thomas Detry. Åberg, who made his debut two years ago in Rome, climbed 55 places this week after his victory at Torrey Pines.
Tommy Fleetwood is n ° 10, Bob Macintyre is n ° 18, Jon Rahm is n ° 24 and Sepp Straka is n ° 37.

The good news continues to come for Luke Donald. Sunday in Torrey Pines, one of the most popular sites in America, Ludvig Aberg won three victories in the last three PGA Tour events for Europeans.
And the positivity of the Ryder Cup does not end with the soft success of the Swedish in San Diego.
With the Austrian SEPP Straka starting the blue and gold rush last month, also in California, this means that Donald, the captain of Europe, can grill four champions in the five most recent tournaments on the American circuit.
Meanwhile, Keegan Bradley, the English counterpart, has seen only one home player win so far in 2025 and, while Berg followed the victories of Belgian Thomas Detry and Rory McILroy , that cannot have been a pleasant overview of the American captain.
Yes, there are seven months until the three -day biennial confrontation in New York and these are the first days in the respective qualification races. However, Donald will nevertheless be more confident than ever than his men make a first triumph outside in 13 years – and Bradley will be in shock.
The first six in the European ranking at the end of August will automatically win their place, Donald then appoint his six jokers.
Top Six as it
1. Rory McILroy (Northern Ireland)

The Northern Irishman was in the midst of the Genesis Invitational Genesis, but his challenge withdrew a 74-72 weekend. It was frustrating because an equality for the fifth would have seen him jump Xander Schauffele in second place in the world ranking. His driving, unusually, drops it, but he should be able to apply the solution before playing in Florida in fifteen.
2. Tyrrell Hatton (England)
The World No. 8 will not play in regular events on the PGA Tour or the DP World Tour before the qualification endings, it will therefore have to count on his performance in the majors if he wants to stay in the six automatic. He worked on equality for the 23rd at Liv Adélaïde on Sunday, but with his victory at the Dubai Desert Classic, then his equality for the sixth in the first VIV event in Riyadh, he remains in good shape.
3. Rasmus Hojgaard (Denmark)

The Danish dream is to have the twins – Rasmus and Nicolai – both playing with Bethpage Black. Rasmus had a good start to the qualification race, underlined by his victory over McILroy in Ireland last year. The 23 -year -old is in all the best tournaments and, although he missed the Cup in Genesis, 12th place at the waste management open the previous week was commendable.
4. Ludvig Aberg (Sweden)
The Genesis Invitational was the greatest victory for the 25 -year -old woman’s career so far and easily her most impressive. With four birdies in his last six holes in Torrey Pines, Aberg – who recorded his first hole in a professional during the third round Saturday – revised the Maverick Maverick McNealy, with Scottie Scheffler in the world n ° 1 in the world ending in third .
Since Berg has played in the Ryder Cup as a first year pro in 2023, there has never been any doubt about his quality and he says everything that his 15 -month -old race without silver care until that that he won his fifth success on Sunday. The 66 was a pure class and took Aberg in the fourth row of the world. Donald will be more delighted.

5. Shane Lowry (Ireland)
Suffered a polar week in Torrey, with equality for 39th. However, his finalist in McILroy in Pebble Beach two weeks ago shows how important the signature events will be important in the next six months. It is surprising that someone of the quality of Lowry had to rely on two jokers and has not yet qualified automatically. It should be his year.
6. Thomas Detry (Belgium)
A brilliant victory of seven blows to Phoenix for the Belgian with the pretty swing put him in an enticing vision of a start of the Ryder Cup. Detryn is an experienced PGA Tour activist and seeing a prosecution pack, including Scheffler, has shown that he has the nerve and the Chutzpah to go with obvious talent.

And if Donald chose his jokers now
7. Tommy Fleetwood (England)
His tie for the fifth in Genesis has been its best finish so far this year and promises a lot with the Florida swing a few weeks old. He is back in the top 10 of the world and, with his record of Pedigree and Ryder Cup, it would be almost inconceivable that Fleetwood did not do it with Bethpage.
8. Bob Macintyre (Scotland)
The left -hander experienced a remarkable 2024, winning the Canada Open, then winning tears in the Scottish Open. Established in the top 20 of the world and showed in his early days two years ago that it is a natural Ryder Cup.
9. Jon Rahm (Spain)
Like his teammate liv, Hatton, Rahm can only earn qualification points by the majors. But with a second and sixth in the first two events on the circuit funded by Arabia, the Spaniard simply underlined his class. It is ridiculous that Rahm is no longer in the top 50 of the world. The classification mess should be sorted.

10. Justin Rose (England)
The veteran will have to produce many more good things he showed in third place behind McILroy in Pebble Beach and his missed cut last week was a backhand. Needs to rediscover its consistency.
11. Sepp Straka (Austria)
Started the race in Europe last month at the Quinta and, although he missed the Cup in Torrey, he played six of the first seven events in 2025 and seems to need a break.
12. Aaron Rai (England)
Has not yet caught fire this season and perhaps Donald would put himself on the side of Viktor Hovland for a beginner in such circumstances. But Rai is a golfer cut off from the same fabric as the captain of Europe and his work ethics, his tenacity and his imperturbable temperament will be very attractive. Needs an increase, however.
The players bubble under
Matt Wallace and Niklas Norgaard have abandoned automatic places in recent weeks and the two will be recalled the need to be in the main events. Wallace is desperate to appear in Bethpage but knows that it soon requires a large tournament. He plays Mexico this week and this could provide a passage not only to the Masters and the United States, but also to signature events, with all their points.
Viktor Hovland has had trouble with his swing in recent weeks – Getty Images / Ezra Shaw
The players that Donald will seek for the form
After another missed cup in The Genesis, Hovland fell from the top 10 of the world and provides Donald an important headache while he fights with his swing. Donald will be eager that the Norwegian turns the corner very soon. Matt Fitzpatrick is another big name that must do more to impress Donald.
Others
18 Bob Macintyre (Scotland) 323.57. 25 Jon Rahm (Spain) 257.80. 30 Justin Rose (England) 219.91. 37. Sepp Straka (Austria) 197,72. 46. Aaron Rai (England) 172.06. 58. Nicolai Hojgaard (Denmark) 124.21. 73. Matt Fitzpatrick (England) 90.07. 101. Viktor Hovland (Norway) 51.60.

His son, Charlie, should play in an elite tournament which is widely considered to be the equivalent of the junior golf of the first major of the year, The Junior Invitational in Sage Valley.
According to the list of event participants, which is available for players via a golf engineering link and was obtained by Golfchannel.com, the name of Charlie Woods appears as the 37th and last participant of the tournament from 19 to 22 Mars at the Sage Valley Golf Club in Graniteville, South Carolina, which is not far from Augusta National. This size number on the field is surprising since the tournament generally has a field of 36 players and invitation only made up of the best junior players in the world.
A spokesperson for the tournament said to Golfchannel.com: “For the moment, we can confirm that the field is not finalized. As in the past, we will release the full field of boys and girls to draw once. The Tournament is 36 boys and 24 girls; and the web page had been withdrawn on Monday evening with the link to a page saying: “Registration is currently closed”.
The listed field also includes each of the six best players in the junior golf dashboard: n ° 1 Luke Colton, n ° 2 Louis Klein, n ° 3 Miles Russell, n ° 4 Michael Riebe, n ° 5 Tyler Watts and N ° 6 Logan Reilly. Several international players in the top 150 in the world amateur golf ranking are also registered: n ° 46 Nguyen Anh Minh, n ° 105 Lev Grinberg, n ° 126 Haoyi Wang and n ° 142 Hugo Le Goff.
Woods, 16, is classified n ° 713 on JGS. He qualified for his first American junior lover last summer before missing the match by 18 shots. His most notable victory occurred last July at the Junior PGA Cup in southern Florida, classified by Wagr. He also helped Benjamin school to a state team title in 2023, a few months after winning a Hurricane Junior Tour event.
There is also a female division of 24 players in Sage Valley, which should include nine of the 10 best JGS players, notably the reigning champion and the n ° 1 Asterisk Talley, as well as Kai Trump, the granddaughter of presidents Donald Trump . Trump, 17, is ranked n ° 2 342 in JGS and recently gave his verbal commitment to the University of Miami. She also has more than a million YouTube subscribers and was announced during the weekend as having signed an approval agreement with Taylormade, who is a partner of the Junior Invitational and also has Tiger Woods as Ambassador.
Several former winners in Sage Valley, who organized his first boys’ tournament in 2011, continued to play on the PGA Tour: Scottie Scheffler (2014), Joaquin Niemann (2017), Akshay Bhatia (2018), Austin Eckroat (2016), Carson Young (2012) and Aldrich Potgieter (2023). The female event made its debut in 2022 with Amalie Leth-Nissen and Anna Davis winning before Talley.
This year’s tournaments will mark the first time that they are disputed on 72 holes.

Palm Beach Gardens – Ludvig Aberg knew the best way to cross two TGL games on Monday which started less than 24 hours after the cement of its place as a prodigy on the PGA Tour.
Coffee. And a lot.
Aberg was seen holding a cup when he was interviewed on ESPN shortly after arriving at the Sofi Center. And he said he might need two more cups between the consecutive matches of the Bay Golf Club against Atlanta Drive and Boston Common. The bay (3-0) won them both at one point.
This after admitting that he had “a lot of coffee” on Monday morning when he was trying to find the energy for the bay double head.
“I would like to think I’m young,” said Aberg.
At 25, not much to think. Unless, of course, to check what this Swedish accomplishes on the golf course.
Because Berg begins to challenge his age.
The golfers of the Bay Club Shane Lowry, on the left, Ludvig Aberg and Wyndham Clark, on the right, during their golf match at the Sofi Center, the TGL house, the interactive golf league founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McILroy on January 7 2025 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
The victory of Aberg on Sunday at the Genesis Invitational outside San Diego was his third in the world since he became pro two years ago, a CV which also includes a finalist in 2024 Masters and being part of The European Ryder 2023 Ryder team.
But the highest point (so far), is the victory on a blow on Maverick McNealy on Sunday – and $ 4 million – which made it pass to n ° 4 in the world classification.
From Genesis to TGL in less than 24 hours
Champagne had barely enough time to dry before Aberg jumped an airplane for the cross-country flight on Sunday from San Diego to the County of Palm Beach. He slept around 3:30 am
Talk about a turnaround.
“I am still in a way in this competitive state of mind,” said Aberg just before the first match. “Not so long ago, we played the last hole.”
The first match was against Atlanta and Lucas Glover, Justin Thomas and Patrick Cantlay, who saw enough Aberg. All three were among those who were there during the weekend in Torrey Pines to watch Aberg to make a show in the section with four birdies in the last six holes to win by a stroke.
They always tried to understand how to beat the rising star a day later. But everything they had was sarcasm.
“Happy you finally won something,” Thomas told Aberg after losing him twice in 24 hours. “Happy for you.”
“Ludvig is pretty good in golf,” said Glover. “Too bad it is not beautiful too. He has nothing for him.”
Glover was able to see the start -up a year ago when they were twinned at the Genesis du Riviera Country Club.
“I was impressed because I never looked at anyone,” said Glover. “I told him afterwards, more for his behavior and her composure than his game. It is impressive to watch someone as young with as much game and as much success and always do it with his humility and his grace. “”
The praise of a 24 -year -old veteran who should start his 550th PGA Tour at Cognizing Classic next week in the beaches of Palm.

And then there was that of Tiger Woods, who welcomed Genesis but withdrew after the death of her mother, Kultida. Last month, Tiger stood behind Aberg watching him hit the gunshots before a TGL match.
Ludvig Aberg receives great praise from Tiger Woods
The man who has 15 major championships and is considered one of the two biggest to play the game was impressed.
“Not much can be mistaken,” said Tiger about Aberg’s swing.
Aberg’s response Sunday after Tiger presented the trophy to him.
“Tiger is the goat. It’s my goat.”
During the second match of the Bay of the day, against Boston Common, Aberg faced Rory McILroy in Simple and struck a route of 360 yards on the 11th hole of 535 yards, before winning the hole with a putt of 15 feet.
Aberg was invited to compare the feeling to the one he had on Sunday when he won his first signature event by making a 7 -foot putt on Birdie on No. 18.
“Very similar,” said Aberg, who recently moved from Tallahassee to Ponte Vedra Beach. “You have the same emotions that cross your mind. And we are all competitors, and six of the best players in the world are on green, and you don’t really want to spoil, especially not with your teammates to be with you who play the good Golf.
During the match against Boston Common, the teammate of Aberg, Shane Lowry, was asked about the bay strategy.
“We are just going to let him be himself,” he said, pointing Aberg.
Good strategy.

Ludvig Åberg did not waste time after his victory at Torrey Pines on Sunday.
After having a jet across the country almost immediately after winning the Genesis Invitational in southern California, Åberg helped lead the Bay GC to two of the biggest names in the sport of a triple head of the triple head day of TGL presidents.
They first beat Justin Thomas and Atlanta Drive GC 6-5 in the second match in Florida, then exceeded Rory McILroy and the Boston Commons GC to win a 5-4 victory and finish the night after a Wyndham putt Clark. He capped what was a remarkable golf section for the Swedish star, both on the course and on the simulator.
The bay was held to win a victory from a point in its first match of the day on Monday in Florida, part of a triple-head of the special presidents. This followed Thomas’ overtime rally that he sealed with a chip-in to beat the Los Angeles Golf Club.
The bay took an advance of 3-0 almost immediately, thanks in part to a clutch stroke of Min Woo Lee on the fourth hole. It came after a time dead on the green when they forgot to raise a club.
While Atlanta replied the fifth, thanks to a 13 feet from Thomas after the launch of a hammer, Lucas Glover missed a perfect opportunity to win the hammer in the next hole and suddenly take the lead. Glover responded to the ninth to close the triplets with a safe, however, which kept its deficit in one while they entered simple. This chip-in sent Thomas also backing down to the green to celebrate.
The bay finally advanced on the 13th after Clark won via a hammer throw, then Åberg dropped another dart on the 14th par-3. He was a few centimeters from an ace, which would have been the first in competition.
Thomas had the chance to force overtime to the last hole, but Thomas’ long putt was just a bit short. This gave the bay victory for a blow.
Then in the last match of the day, Hideki Matsuyama started in Boston with a two -point Birdie putt on the first hole. The bay has rallied and took the lead in the par-3 fifth, however, after Keegan Bradley had a putt of barely a boost after a hammer. This made him look with disbelief. The bay is then mounted which led through the rest of the nine before.
Bradley finally caught up on the 10th in his head-to-face battle with Shane Lowry. He chipped Eagle from the back of the green, which sparked a huge celebration inside the arena. It equaled the match.
Åberg continued to move forward immediately with a deep stewed putt to beat McILroy on their first hole to put the bay in mind. But, after Lowry turned a shot in the bunker, Boston launched another hammer to attach the match again in the last two holes.
McILroy then took his shot on the 14th and launched the hammer after having pulled his stewed putt. This put all the pressure on Åberg, which sank his 6 feet so that the match was linked to the last. Clark then won the match with a 10 -foot eagle putt on the 15th to put Matsuyama and Boston.
Justin Thomas leads Atlanta out of the hole
Teeing in the afternoon of its usual decor during prime time, the first match presented the GC Atlanta Drive (1-0), undefeated and the Los Angeles Golf Club (2-0).
LAGC took an advance of 1-0 at the start of the third hole, with Justin Rose flowing a 14-foot putt. However, the match was tied at 1-1 on the next hole when Justin Thomas launched the hammer for Atlanta, but Lagc refused. (Each team obtained three hammers under new rules, compared to one during the previous TGL matches.)
Sahith Theegala missed a putt on the fifth hole that would have given the head to Lagc, but the shot has launched. The two teams remained equal to 2-2 after holes 6 and 7.
LAGC won the ninth hole on a seven-feet putt to take a 3-2 lead. They built this margin at 5-2 when Tommy Fleetwood sank a birdie to win the hole 11.
However, Atlanta rallied to do it 5-4 on hole 13 with a Billy Putt out of pearl. LAGC maintained its slight edge until the hole 15 when Thomas cut to move the match to overtime.
In overtime, it is a challenge closest to the spindle in TGL. Fleetwood seemed to have given LAGC victory when he fled in his shot. But Patrick Cantlay finished the Atlanta rally and obtained victory, winning his shot less than five feet from the spit.
With the victory, Atlanta has briefly improved at 2-0 before falling at 2-1 this season. LAGC took its first defeat of the season and fell to 2-1, but it still looks like TGL’s favorite before a match next Monday against New York GC, which has not yet won.
Ludvig Åberg did not waste time after his victory at Torrey Pines on Sunday.
After having made a throw across the country almost immediately after winning the Genesis Invitational in southern California, Åberg helped led the Bay GC to a dominant victory over Justin Thomas and Atlanta Drive GC in the second of three TGL games Monday.
The bay was held to win a 6-5 victory in its first match of the day on Monday in Florida, part of a triple-head of the special presidents. This followed Thomas’ overtime rally that he sealed with a chip-in to beat the Los Angeles Golf Club.

Gordon Sargent did something he never had on Monday at the Watersound Invitational.
Vanderbilt’s senior is ranked sixth in the world amateur golf course, and after the NCAA championship in May, he will be a member of the PGA Tour thanks to the reception of his card via the Accelerated PGA University in the fall of 2023 .
Sargent was the fifth bag of Vanderbilt’s programming in the tournament at Shark’s Tooth Golf Course in Panama City Beach, Florida, an event that the commodores have won the last two years. During his career Vandy, Sargent was never bag n ° 5, which is generally saved for the last player to qualify for a place.
Where a player is in the programming does not really matter, although the best places are generally where the best players or qualifications are split. One of the five scores can count every day in a range. For the individual champion of the 2022 NCAA, it is an unknown place during what is probably the most uncomfortable period of his career.
Former amateur n ° 1, Sargent did not finish in the top 10 for the commodores as a senior. It has more cycles of 75 or more (4) than towers in the 1960s (3). His first departure this spring was T-63 at the Southwestern Invitational, where he opened with cycles of 79 and 78.
Sargent finished T-2 at Watersound last year, but after his nine holes open on Monday, he was 7 years old and beat a single golfer on the ground.
He is one of the best in the university golf for three years and he is quite talented to get out of all the crises he is going through, but to see him as the Five bag is a strange spectacle for those who follow the closely university golf course.

After a week’s break, TGL resumed its season with a triple head of the presidents on Monday. Teeing in the afternoon of its usual framework during proud hours, the first confrontation presented the invainu GC of Atlanta Drive GC (1-0) and the Los Angeles Golf Club (2-0).
LAGC took an advance of 1-0 at the start of the third hole, with Justin Rose flowing a 14-foot putt. In overtime, it is closest to the TGL PIN challenge. Fleetwood seemed to have given LAGC victory when he fled in his shot. But Patrick Cantlay finished the Atlanta rally and obtained victory, winning his shot less than five feet from the spit.
With the victory, Atlanta improved at 2-0 and will try to remain undefeated against the Bay GC at 4 p.m. HE. LAGC took its first defeat and fell to 2-0-1, but still looks like TGL’s favorite before a match next Monday against New York GC (0-2).
The Bay Golf Club and the Boston Common Golf will conclude at night in the third match of the day. This will showcase Rory McILroy and Ludvig Åberg, who was fresh out of his victory at Genesis Invitational in southern California on Sunday.

The arrival of Jon Rahm on the stage of the professional golf course was marked by his victory at the Open Farmers Insurance 2017 in Torrey Pines, a victory which did it for the first time in the top 50 of the official world classification of the Golf .
More than 8 years later, with 52 weeks spent as a golfer No. 1 in the world, his time in the top 50 is over.
On Monday, Rahm fell from the top 50 in the world ranking for the first time since his first PGA Tour victory.
Since his defection at Liv Golf, Rahm has won OWGR points in any of these events. He played brilliantly in LIV events, never placing himself worse than the T-10. However, in the events he accumulates OWGR points, he did not play his expectations.
Last year, Rahm missed the cup at the Masters and PGA championship before retiring from the US Open with a foot injury. He placed T-7 at the open championship, T-5 at the Olympic Games and has three TOP-10 on the DP World Tour in time, including a finalist at the Spanish Open.
It has been almost a year since Liv Golf has removed its OWGR application, and the league has not shown signs that it will apply anytime soon.
Data Golf classifies golf golf players in its world ranking, where Rahm is fourth. However, there are only five golf golf players in the top 50 of the data golf course. In OWGR, Tyrrell Hatton (n ° 8) and Bryson Dechambeau (n ° 13) are the only players in the top 50.
But with regard to OWGR, except for a victory in a major event or DP World Tour, the Rahm slide should continue.
