  • This mid -year inscriber defeated the world’s N ° 1 amateur in the playoffs for his first university victory

If the name Eila Galitsky is familiar, it is probably from the moment she burst into the golf stage a few years ago.

Thai Junior’s star won low amateur honors at the Chevron 2023 championship and also won the Asia-Pacific female amateur. Classified in 19th in the ranking of world amateur golf, she is one of the best fans of the game at only 18 years old.

When Galitsky decided to register a semester at the start of the South Carolina, he gave coach Kalen Anderson three best players. Louise Rydqvist and Hannah Darling are seniors out of competition, but Galitsky may be the secret weapon of the Gamecocks this spring.

Galitsky won his first university event during his second departure on Tuesday, capturing the Moon Golf Invititational at the Suntree Country Club in Melbourne, Florida. She did it by draining a 35 -foot Birdie putt on the first hole in the playoffs to eliminate the N ° 1 amateur in the world, the Florida State Junior Lottie Woad. Galitsky drew 3 sous 69 in the final to enter the playoff series, and now she has her first university victory in a trailer.

Woad has not finished outside the top 10 for almost two years in an amateur competition, and the prevailing winner of Smyth Salver and the National Champion of the Augusta Autochale is one of the favorites to win the Annika Prize This spring, awarded to the Golf College in College Golf Player. But Galitsky, who was 3 years old in her last nine holes, hunted Woad to force a playoff series, then she buried the long Birdie Putt to highlight her arrival at the university golf course.

Florida State won the title of the team, finishing 2 sous, the only team under the peer. Wake Forest and South Carolina completed the first three.

  • This Tiger Woods TGL shot was “one of the most embarrassing things that happen”

Before even hitting the blow, Jupiter connects the Kevin Kisner and Tom Kim teammates questioned the choice of the Tiger Woods.

During the simple game of the TGL match on Tuesday evening between Jupiter Links and the New York Golf Club, Woods struck his second blow on a par-4. He asked Kisner and Kim for a meter, and they answered 99. Woods took it literally, but he needed to add a 1 in front.

“He doesn’t have enough club,” said Kisner just before Woods hit the blow. “What is he doing?

“He has a corner,” said Kisner, while Woods hit a perfect corner that resulted in a perfect lay-up.

More: Tiger Woods uncertain when he returns to Pga Tour, did not “ thought of golf ”

“What are you doing?” Said Kim, laughing uncontrollable. “It’s 199,” added Kisner.

“You said 99 yards,” said Tiger with a confused look at his face. “You said 99.”

While Woods returned to the bench of his team, Kisner and Kim were folded in laughter. They even jokingly asked: “Can we have a Mulligan?”

Marty Smith of ESPN then came and asked Woods: “What just happened?”

“I caught my 56 and I hit him 100 meters,” replied Tiger.

The misunderstanding was a microcosm of the night for Jupiter Links, who lost 10-3 against the New York Golf Club. But the moment was also the highest point of the match.

“It was one of the most embarrassing things that happened,” said Woods after the match. “I can’t believe it has just happened.”

Tiger Woods returned to competition on Tuesday, two weeks after the death of his mother, while Jupiter Links Golf Club lost 10-3 against the New York Golf Club in the TGL.

The major winner at 15 times, who founded the partial partial league alongside Rory McILroy, was released alongside the 16 -year -old son Charlie before the event at the Sofi Center, where Kultida Woods watched her son play for the last time January 27.

Woods withdrew from the Genesis Invitational last week, telling Scott Van de l’Espn before Tuesday’s TGL event that he always worked through his emotions.

“It’s a process,” he said. “It was the last time she watched me play, so it was a bit emotional to come here tonight.

“(Cadressates) Kis (Kevin Kisner) and TK (Tom Kim), they made me huge hugs.”

Woods also thought about the support of her mother for her career in golf: “She was a hard woman. Very disciplined, very hard. She was very direct on her feelings, her emotions – she would make you know anyway.

“But she has always been so favorable to what I am there and that I played. It was incredible.

Jupiter experienced difficulties on Tuesday, New York, collected three points on the first three holes – more than the team had succeeded during its first two combined games.

From this moment, Rickie Fowler, Matt Fitzpatrick and Cameron Young never looked back, stretching New York’s advance at 8-0 after eight holes while the first goal of New York Mets, Pete Alonso and the Legend of Yankees, CC Sabathia, watched from the stands.

The 9th and 10th holes saw Jupiter back up three points, but a mixture for Woods on Hole 13 summed up the team’s game.

After a starting blow left Woods at 199 yards of the hole, Caddy Rob McNamara told him “99”, dropping the first issue as is often the case when the Caddies feel that the footage is obvious.

Woods then chose a corner and struck his next 99 yards shot – 100 shy target shy – inciting Kisner and Kim to die for laughter.

“I heard 99 yards, and so I went there and I hit him 100 meters,” smiles Woods thereafter. “One of the most embarrassing moments of my golf career has just happened!”

It is unlikely that Jupiter will be easier for Jupiter in his next event, with the team that should face the Bay Golf Club, which is undefeated and leads the League on February 25.

New York is the next in action against Los Angeles on February 24.

  • Tiger Woods returns to Golf while TGL continues the full week of matches

TGL, the interior golf league which serves as a nice bridge between the holidays and the Masters, continued a strong sequence of matches on Tuesday evening in a battle between the New York Golf Club of Rickie Fowler and the Jupiter of Golf of Tiger Woods. New York was right for the battle, exploding Jupiter by a final score of 10-3.

The evening has marked the first Woods public golf course since his loss of mother last week. He intended to play in Genesis Invitational from last week, but retired as a player of this event when he continued to cry. He briefly visited the Genesis on Sunday as an animator of the tournament, then joined Kevin Kisner and Tom Kim on Tuesday to play against Fowler, Cameron Young and Matt Fitzpatrick.

New York GC has entered the match as weaker from the six TGL teams, with a 0-2 file and a 2-12 record in all the holes played. Jupiter was slightly better at 1-1, with a 4-12 file in won holes. But New York jumped to a strong advance, winning the first hole after Woods missed a 5 feet to equalize, then capturing seven other consecutive points to exercise an advance of 8-0 through eight holes.

Although there were difficulties – in particular Jupiter, which did not seem to keep the ball in play – the two teams had moments of individual excellence. Kevin Kisner, so often the butt of jokes during his first TGL play rounds, almost came huge at the start of Tuesday’s match:

But it was Fowler who had the early shot of the match, relaxing almost 200 “yards” from the virtual hole.

The two teams quickly used the newly updated TGL hammer rules, which give each team three hammers to launch in order to double the value of the hole. Jupiter’s hammer on the second hole remained unused while the hole was half reduced, but the first New York hammer on the third hole enabled Fowler and Co. to get a quick two points on the board.

Kim finally stopped the bleeding of Jupiter, winning the last hole of the triples with a 12 -foot putt which has just captured the right edge of the cup. With the advantage of a thrown hammer, Kim’s Putt sent the match in simple with New York at the top of 8-2.

The most absurd moment of the match – and perhaps the most absurd moment of the brief history of TGL – came when Woods thought that the distance to the spit was 99 meters, and he pulled a corner at 100 meters The hole. The problem was that it was 199 yards; He had misunderstood the distance.

“It was one of the most embarrassing things that happened,” said Woods. “I can’t believe it has just happened.”

In the first hole of the singles, Woods overwhelmed young people to take another point. But Fowler rebounded with a victory over Kisner to extend the advance to 9-3. Jupiter launched his last hammer on the 12th, but could not take advantage of because Kim and Fitzpatrick have half the hole. Young took revenge on Woods on the 13th, adding another point in a total of New York. Kisner and Fowler equalized the 14th, and Kim and Fitzpatrick reduced by half the 15th, to put the final score to 10-3. The night completely marked the turnaround for NYGC, who won the two holes in his two previous games.

“It was somehow a tacit thing,” said Fowler. “We were going to need a big night at one point to at least advance the Mojo and the momentum in the right direction. Delighted to do it tonight compared to a match or two.”

On the largest scale, Tuesday has closed the most active week of TGL to date with development. The Jupiter-New York match was not as competitive as the three redouches on Monday, but the presence of Tiger Woods gave the evening a high air. TGL seems to find its groove, and the combination of celebrities and tight matches should keep fans at the last weeks of the League season.

TGL returns next Monday with a double-head, Los Angeles against New York at 5 p.m. He and Boston against Atlanta at 9 p.m. he. The two games will be on ESPN2.

  • Tiger Woods emotional when he returns to TGL after his mother’s death | Angelo

Palm Beach Gardens – The return of Tiger Woods to the competition golf course highlighted raw emotions on Tuesday evening.

Tiger thought of his mother, Kultida Woods, when he went to the Sofi Center. Three weeks ago, Kultida, was in the stands to watch her son play his second TGL match.

It would be the last time that Kultida would see her son playing golf playing. A week later, Tiger announced on social networks that his mother had died. She was 78 years old.

“I had a lot of trouble getting here, then reliving all the moments we had, my mother, how excited she was that Charlie drives her here,” said Tiger about her son.

“So these are great moments and great memories. It was a difficult process.”

The last time Tiger played golf was with President Donald Trump five days after the death of his mother.

Tiger said he was comforted by the support of his teammates Jupiter Links, Kevin Kisner and Tom Kim. Everyone hugged him when they saw him and during the match, they wore a special red pin on their hats to honor their mother.

The pin presents the Thai symbol for love and pays tribute to Kultida’s belief that red was Tiger’s power color.

Tiger, who, with Rory Mcilroy, helped to create TGL, withdrew from the Genesis Invititational last week, saying that he was too early to play after losing his mother, even if he is the host of tournament and that its foundation is the beneficiary.

On Tuesday, he returned to the competition golf course for the first time since his death.

“I think she really liked to watch me play,” said Tiger after Jupiter abandoned her match at the New York Golf Club, 10-3. “It was great to have it in the stands and watch us play and have children here and family and friends. It was a great moment. I really appreciate it to be here.”

The night seemed to be an outing for Tiger, who spent much of the laughing match of the absurdity of the way things happened for him and his team.

Jupiter has been out of the Sofi center from the first hole. New York, with Cameron Young, Rickie Fowler and Matt Fitzpatrick, won eight of the first nine holes to take an 8-0 lead.

“ One of the most embarrassing things ” to get to Tiger

It is a comedy of errors for Jupiter which has become a viral moment on the 13th hole when Tiger struck a corner when he had 199 yards in the hole.

“It was one of the most embarrassing things that happened,” said Tiger, laughing after the match. “I can’t believe it has just happened.”

As for the blow. He nailed it .. if it was really 99 yards.

“I hit him 100 meters,” he said.

Kim and Kisner were confused when they saw Tiger swing.

“What are you doing?” Said Kim. “It’s 199,” added Kisner.

“You said 99,” said Tiger. “You said 99.”

This moment came 10 holes after Tiger, Kim and Kisner spent several minutes looking for a ball brand, which they learned later in Kisner’s pocket all the time.

As for golf, it was not much better. Tiger started by missing a 5 -foot putt for the peer and a tie.

And it got worse from there.

On the second hole, he left the ball in the bunker, a shot that cost Jupiter two points after New York launched the hammer.

On n ° 4, its reader derived on the left, on the left, in any grass displayed on the virtual screen.

    So and so on.

Tiger had a highest point, dropping an 8 -foot putt to defeat Young in simple.

But that was not what Jupiter thought when the three players arrived in the media center after the match.

“Can you talk about what you’ve learned about today’s match,” they asked.

The three players burst out laughing.
