Palm Beach Gardens – The return of Tiger Woods to the competition golf course highlighted raw emotions on Tuesday evening.
Tiger thought of his mother, Kultida Woods, when he went to the Sofi Center. Three weeks ago, Kultida, was in the stands to watch her son play his second TGL match.
It would be the last time that Kultida would see her son playing golf playing. A week later, Tiger announced on social networks that his mother had died. She was 78 years old.
“I had a lot of trouble getting here, then reliving all the moments we had, my mother, how excited she was that Charlie drives her here,” said Tiger about her son.
“So these are great moments and great memories. It was a difficult process.”
The last time Tiger played golf was with President Donald Trump five days after the death of his mother.
Tiger said he was comforted by the support of his teammates Jupiter Links, Kevin Kisner and Tom Kim. Everyone hugged him when they saw him and during the match, they wore a special red pin on their hats to honor their mother.
The pin presents the Thai symbol for love and pays tribute to Kultida’s belief that red was Tiger’s power color.
Tiger, who, with Rory Mcilroy, helped to create TGL, withdrew from the Genesis Invititational last week, saying that he was too early to play after losing his mother, even if he is the host of tournament and that its foundation is the beneficiary.
On Tuesday, he returned to the competition golf course for the first time since his death.
“I think she really liked to watch me play,” said Tiger after Jupiter abandoned her match at the New York Golf Club, 10-3. “It was great to have it in the stands and watch us play and have children here and family and friends. It was a great moment. I really appreciate it to be here.”
The night seemed to be an outing for Tiger, who spent much of the laughing match of the absurdity of the way things happened for him and his team.
Jupiter has been out of the Sofi center from the first hole. New York, with Cameron Young, Rickie Fowler and Matt Fitzpatrick, won eight of the first nine holes to take an 8-0 lead.

“It was one of the most embarrassing things that happened,” said Tiger, laughing after the match. “I can’t believe it has just happened.”

This moment came 10 holes after Tiger, Kim and Kisner spent several minutes looking for a ball brand, which they learned later in Kisner’s pocket all the time.
As for golf, it was not much better. Tiger started by missing a 5 -foot putt for the peer and a tie.
